A confirmation is the network's own way of settling a payment. Until the number shown is reached, an incoming payment is marked as pending in your wallet.
One address, several networks.
Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, Avalanche, Gnosis, Linea, zkSync Era, Scroll, Cronos and Sonic all use the same address for your wallet.
That is convenient, but the coins live on separate networks: when someone pays you, make sure they send on the network you are looking at, or the payment will show up on a different coin's site.
